A few random things~

I still like Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu after the second episode, which was ridiculously cute. Haruka's hair bugs the crap out of me, but whatever.

And then I watched episode 24 of Clannad, the alternate universe Tomoyo route episode, which I have to say, I liked more than just about the entire original series, and I'm not even a very big fan of Tomoyo. Not that I know much about her other than the tiny bit of history presented in the original series. Moop. I really hope the game's translation is finished before After Story comes out. I think KyoAni is dying, and things like Lucky Star and the execution of most of Clannad [other than Fuuko's route, which I liked (though it ran a bit long), and some of the comedy] are their "incurable cough of death", if ya know what I mean. Oh well. Hopefully I'm wrong and they'll come out with something that is super amazing, blah da blah blah blah, that I like as much as (or more than) I liked their versions of Kanon and Air.

Aaaand... I got my first anime figurine. Kind of. Unless you count the slightly creepy McFarlane Ryouko I got for Christmas a million years ago.
Buuuut yeah. It's Zeruel XX, the anthropomorph of, well, Zeruel from Evangelion. You know, the Angel with what appears to be absurdly durable (and sharp) paper for arms that causes all kinds of trouble and eventually gets eaten? That one. She's cuuuuuuute~ The only thing that bugs me are the transparent... breast... things. But whatever. She's also lacking the creepy skull face thing, and has random ass cat ear-like horn things instead. Unless maybe that weird thing on the back of her head is supposed to be it? Nyeh. It would have taken more effort, but it would have been way cooler if she came with the creepy skull face thing in the form of a mask, and you could attach it to her face or to the top/side of her head, like, uh... How people in anime sometimes wear those fox masks.
She also has the lamest excuse for articulation I have ever seen. Ooohhh god, oooohhh god, look at this, her head... IT CAN TURN! Haha. I'm just used to my brother's Marvel Legends collection, which I think even includes one with individually moving TOES. But I wasn't really expecting any moving parts at all, so this is a nice surprise. I just thought it was kind of funny.
But then, she was cheeeeeeaaaaaaaap. Five dollars. That's like... 80% off?
They also had a bunch of Sachiels for the same price, but I didn't have enough money. Oh well, they had a bunch, so hopefully next time I am in that area they'll still have a few for the same price. And maybe by then I will have found my mysteriously vanished from existence wallet, which I know is in my room somewhere, but the exact location is a mystery.
God, Eva is pretty much my favorite anime ever, but this is only the second piece of merchandise I've bought (not counting DVD's and manga)? I am (not really) ASHAMED. I blame it on the fact that most of the figures that I have seen (including the one I own) are all "sexy", which is boooooring. I would like a Rei figure, but not one that involves an extremely unnatural pose in a plugsuit. Nyaarrrrrrrrrgh.

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu

...Wasn't bad at all. At least the first episode. Haha. I had a feeling I'd like it, but you never know.

Hummm. Haruka is cute, and she doesn't seem to be a stereotypical otaku dude in a girl's body, which is always something that has bothered me when it comes to female Akiba-kei in anime.

Uhhh. Animation's not amazing or anything, and there were some weird shakey things going on that I think were supposed to be laughing, but... Whatever. It's not like distractingly BAD or anything.

I can't decide if I like the character designs or not. They aren't ugly, it's just that... THE EYES. Especially Haruka's. They are so very very ROUND. I'm sure I will get used to it, though. Haha.

Nya. It seems like it'll be kind of generic, but cute, so I'll keep watching for a while, at least.

Bweh. I wonder if that Ruko-Misato thing was intentional? Probably, haha.

Assorted rambling~

Watched the School Days OVAs. Fun fun. Well, Valentine Days was pretty stupid (except the Kotonoha chocolate), but I liked Magical Heart. Nice and ridiculous. Magical Word's costume was disappointing, though. Not frilly and cute enough. :/

Hmm.

I'm a-playing Da Capo 2. I've finally met Nanaka, which is good because she was the main reason I was interested in the game. And it looks like it will stay that way unless Anzu starts appearing more often. Minatsu is fucking annoying and she needs to go away forever. Yume seems like she might be interesting. Uh. Hmm. The rest of the heroines don't really capture my interest at the moment.

I'm so behind the times. I'm watching anime from last year, and all of the games I am playing are around four years old. Haha.

Bah, I should go do something productive.

School Days (with SPOILERS, oh NO)

Oh look, I just remembered that I made this to ramble about anime and shiz. Here we go~!

I just watched the entire School Days series yesterday. Yeah, I know, I'm late. Anyway... I can't decide if I want to laugh or be horrified. At the end, I mean. Then again, the end is probably the only reason I continued watching this trainwreck. If I didn't know the basics of what was going to happen, I would have totally snubbed this show. High school love stories are boring to me. On the other hand, stories about crazy people? Sign me up!

It left me feeling pretty much the same way I thought, except I couldn't sleep very well last night. Basically, I wanted everyone in the show to die excluding Kotonoha, Kokoro, Setsuna, and Nanami. Too bad only Sekai and Makoto die. They're the main ones I wanted to kill off anyway.

Why does no one (except Kotonoha and Setsuna (Maybe? She had a motive other than "o lol im jsut horniii")) know how to say "no"? Geez. And Makoto is an utter retard. "Hay guise I'm gunna dump my totally awesome girlfriend for an obnoxious whore without telling my original totally awesome girlfriend lolz! and, and then, i'm like, going to have wild sex with every single girl i come into vauge contact with! look at me go~!"

And yes, Kotonoha is totally awesome. A little crazy, but awesome. She's so cute, especially when she's happy~ Too bad Makoto is a dick. She should have picked someone else. Then again, if it wasn't for Magical Busybody ZA WARUDO, maybe she could have ended up, you know, not crazy, and with someone that didn't suck. But I guess then we wouldn't have a story. (not that I am saying Kotonoha is perfect, or something. she's stupidly loyal, and clings to preconceived notions of people, which is one of my pet peeves, at least in real life. fictional characters have a little more leeway because their stupidity is the fault of the writer(s), not themselves.)

Which leads me to my final conclusion: The School Days anime is a cruel marketing ploy. I mean, most anime is just long infomercials for games, manga, figurines, hug pillows, other useless merchandise, etc etc, but School Days is a dick about it. Not only is it censored, so they're telling you to go buy the DVDs, BUT, everyone ends up so fucked over that it almost makes one want to play the game to give (insert favorite character) a happy ending. Did it succeed? I don't know. I'm probably not going to purchase the game unless that translation project gets finished, and even then I don't know.

Even so, I liked the series. Not enough to watch it again or buy DVDs, but the character designs were nice, it invoked an emotional response, and... I don't know. Maybe I just like fucked up endings. I liked that the characters actually behaved like people (albeit stupid, fucked up people, but you know what I mean).

Meh, I'll shut up and go watch the OVAs now.
